These are top quality Dry Fly Capes. We hand select these capes and only choose the ones that are large, full and with the correct qualities to produce dry flies. The quality of these capes has come a long way in the last few years. These are non genetic capes that have great quality hackle but do not have the range of feather sizes that genetic capes have. Most of the feathers on these capes will gauge out in the size #8 to #12 range with a few feathers larger and a few smaller. We offer these Capes in both #1 and #2 grades and in the following colors - Cream, Light Ginger, Ginger, Brown, Badger, Furnace, Light Varient, Dark Variant.

At Baxter House we regularly use these necks for our shop patterns. In the Upper Delaware River System many of our Mayflies are Big. These necks are perfect for these Big Bugs. We find these necks most useful for the following Dry Fly patterns, March Browns, Cahills, Drakes, Hackle Wing Spinners, Wulffs, Stimulators / Stoneflies and other Large Patterns. The larger feathers are also great for streamer wings for both fresh and saltwater flies.
