This CDC X Caddis pattern is tied in house at Baxter House. We have found this pattern to be effective in every Trout Stream we've fished. X Caddis flies have the ability to imitate multiple stages of this insect and are sometimes similar to mayfly emergers as well. The addition of the CDC as the winging material really pushes this pattern over the top with it's ability to signal vulnerability.
This is a Hendrickson CDC Cripple. This is an effective fly that depicts the helpless stage where the insect is partially out of it's shuck. The CDC makes this fly effective in all water types including the glassy slow pools where this insect thrives.
This is a Baxter House Exclusive Fly Pattern. This is the Dipping Caddis. This fly really stands out on the water and is a favorite during times where heavy amounts of flies are on the waters surface. Offered in 4 colors - Olive, Brown, Tan and Black and in 2 sizes #14 and #16
